I probably missed some other uses that don't immediately come to mind, too. Some of this would be out of scope for MyPaint, probably, because it's not trying to be as complex as Gimp or Krita, but it helps emphasise how complicated selection and related operations can be. Set MyPaint's image frame to the selection (or closest possible rectangle), as an analogue to Select->Crop behaviour.Apply transformations on the selection, such as rotating, resizing, etc.Shorthand for cut->new layer->paste to layer->move layer->merge Basically a way to save a selection for later. Shorthand for cut, create new layer, paste to layer. With MyPaint's infinite canvas, may only be able to approximate it based on the image size or the frame settings. Create selection from boundaries of image or frame, analogous to " select all".Sometimes done via handles on the current selection, or by allowing add/subtract behaviour with normal selection methods. ![]()
